Are Presshouse47 and Parlé the same thing?
Short answer: yes and no.
Parlé is a cozy wine bar in Budapest, open Wednesday to Saturday from 17:00 to midnight. You can drop in for a glass of wine, cocktails, premium spirits, or some small bites. We also have a surprisingly good selection of non-alcoholic drinks.
Presshouse47 is the brand behind our wine tastings. Around 90% of these tastings take place at Parlé, which is why the two names often appear together – but technically they refer to different things.
Where is Parlé wine bar located?
Parlé wine bar is located in downtown Budapest, easily accessible from both the Buda and Pest sides of the city.
We’re a small and cozy wine bar focusing on natural wines, cocktails, and curated wine tastings. Most Presshouse47 tasting events take place here.
Are wine tastings available for tourists or English-speaking guests?
Absolutely. Most Presshouse47 wine tastings are available in English, so they’re easy to follow for international guests.
Many of our visitors come from abroad to discover Hungarian wines and Budapest’s wine culture.
Can we host a private event at your place?
Yes – and we actually love hosting private events.
Parlé is perfect for private wine tastings, corporate gatherings, birthdays, or small celebrations. Pricing depends on the season, the day of the week, the time slot, and the group size.
Instead of a traditional venue rental fee, we usually work with a minimum consumption. Feel free to email or call us and we’ll help plan the details.
Can we organize a private wine tasting?
Yes, Presshouse47 regularly offers private wine tastings in Budapest.
These are popular for:

The wines and the theme of the tasting are always tailored to the group.
Is it possible to make a reservation at Parlé?
Yes, reservations are possible during opening hours.
Since we’re a small wine bar, we usually reserve seats rather than large tables.
After 9:30 PM it’s often difficult to accept new reservations. If you’re planning to come with a group larger than 4–5 people, please message or call us in advance so we can make sure there’s space for you.
Do you only serve wine?
Not at all.
Wine is a big part of what we do, but we also love cocktails and we’re quite proud of our house creations. On top of that, we have a fairly wide selection of spirits.

Do you serve natural wines at Parlé?
Yes. Parlé regularly features natural wines and bottles from small producers from Hungary and across Europe.
We love expressive, lively wines – but you’ll also find more classic styles on the list.
Can we have lunch or dinner at Parlé?
At the bar we always offer a few classic snacks: olives, cured ham, cheeses, good olive oil, and fresh bread.
We also organize regular events, and quite often there’s a weekly main dish available as well.
For Presshouse47 wine tastings we can sometimes prepare a warm dish if arranged in advance. If you’re looking for a full dinner experience with your tasting, we usually recommend our sister restaurant: Bartók reggel, délben, este.
What if we'd like to do a wine tasting and have a proper meal as well?
In that case, we often collaborate with our partner restaurant Bartók reggel, délben, este on the Buda side of the city.
It’s a great downtown restaurant where wine tastings can be paired with a full lunch or dinner experience. It’s about 25 minutes away from us by public transport.

What is the maximum group size for a wine tasting at Parlé?
Inside the bar we have 20 seats, but for a single group we usually say 25 guests is the comfortable maximum, especially if the terrace isn’t available.
For larger wine tastings or events, we often recommend hosting them at Bartók reggel, délben, este.
How long does a wine tasting usually last?
Most Presshouse47 wine tastings last around 1.5–2 hours.
During the tasting we explore several wines, talk about the regions and winemakers, and share stories behind the bottles. We also touch on Hungarian wine culture, history, and a few local curiosities along the way.
The atmosphere is relaxed and informal – more like a great conversation over wine than a classroom.
Do we need to book a wine tasting in advance?
Yes, advance booking is usually required for Presshouse47 wine tastings.
Our events are intentionally small and intimate, so spaces are limited. We also organize private wine tastings for both small and larger groups.
Can events be organized at your venue on any day?
In many cases yes, but it always depends on prior coordination.

Do you have a terrace or outdoor seating?
Yes – though it’s more of a small, charming terrace.
From early May until late October we usually have around 10–12 seats outside in front of the bar. It’s not huge, but that’s part of its cozy charm.
Unfortunately we can’t expand it further – we want pedestrians to pass comfortably and also keep the neighborhood peaceful.
